22 Nov 2025 The last day of the 2025 Brazilian Series Of Poker (BSOP) Super High Roller Series took place at the WTC Sheraton in São Paulo. It was one of the most unexpected comebacks of the year. The event attracted 44 players, and the prize pool was $1,320,000. Only two players were left. Martin Kabrhel of the Czech Republic and Ottomar Ladva of Estonia were the only ones left in the race for the prize. Ladva had the most chips when the heads-up battle started, holding a 14:1 advantage. But what happened next shocked everyone at the table, as well as people around the world who were watching. A Slow Start, Then Sudden Chaos Players had until Day 2 to enter the event via late registration. Thirteen new players joined the eleven players who remained in the game after Day 1. This resulted in three full tables to begin the day. As more players joined the event, many arrived with small stacks, and the action moved quickly. The first player to be eliminated was Fabiano Kovalski. Then, other players were eliminated in the first thirty minutes. As the game approached the final table, the pace quickened. Short-stacked players went into survival mode and kept shoving all-in to extend their tournament life. However, Renan Bruschi was the first player eliminated, which set up the final table. Daniel De Almeida and Kelvin Kerber were the first two players eliminated from the final table. At that point, two players became crucial in the game. The two crucial players are Martin Kabrhel and Ottomar Ladva. After the two eliminations, Kabrhel started playing aggressively and applying pressure to his opponents, and it worked. Players folded to his raises without a fight. Kabrhel stood his ground whenever Ladva fought back. He even four-bet all in with king-five, which made Ladva fold his ace-queen. The Bubble Break and Growing Momentum It was a tense two hours on the bubble, and Ivan Luca was the last player to exit without receiving a payout, breaking the bubble. He shoved, but Kabrhel beat him as he slowly gained momentum. Shortly afterwards, Rafael Moraes was eliminated in sixth place. He three-bet and moved all-in preflop, but Kabrhel called with pocket tens, and the pair held strong. Later, Thiago Crema was eliminated from the tournament after losing a coin flip that once again favored Kabrhel. Kabrhel seemed unstoppable all of a sudden. But Ladva changed the script. He eliminated two players consecutively: Andre Akkari in fourth place and then Rodrigo Seiji in third place. These eliminations gave Ladva a massive chip lead as the tournament entered heads-up play. Ladva trapped Kabrhel in a limp pot, which looked like the final hit. Ladva made three of a kind, while Kabrhel failed to complete his flush draw. On the other hand, Kabrhel’s chip stack took a massive hit, leaving him with only six big blinds. This left the chip count at approximately 10 million for Ladva and 725,000 for Kabrhel. Everyone in the room believed the game was over. A Stunning Heads-Up Comeback Kabrhel’s comeback started when he doubled up with a K-7 against Ladva’s 10-5 suited. He immediately went all-in during the next hand. There was a big moment when Ladva shoved from the button with , and Kabrhel looked down at in the big blind. Suddenly, the board revealed three cards that completed Kabrhel's top set, leaving no gaps in his hand. After back-and-forth action, both players had nearly identical chip stacks. The momentum has shifted significantly. Ladva's chips kept moving across the table to Kabrhel, hand after hand. The Czech professional player was now in charge. In the last hand, Kabrhel went all-in holding . Now that Ladva was short on chips, he called with . The board read , which gave Kabrhel the win. The crowd was still in shock when he stood up and yelled, “Vamos!” After the event, Kabrhel stated, “I was very lucky.” He kept his response short and humble. A Remarkable 2025 Run With this win, Kabrhel earned an extra $422,000 and claimed his fourth title of 2025. Kabrhel has won two WSOP bracelets this year, and he now has a total of five WSOP bracelets. Furthermore, he has made it to eight final tables this year alone.
