09 May 2025 A record-breaking 74 players competed in the 13th annual European Poker Tour Monte Carlo's €100,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em super high roller tournament, with the top 11 finishers sharing a prize pool of almost $8.1 million. Biggest Win of 2025 Chris Nguyen of Germany set a new record for the biggest win in 2025, taking home roughly $2.3 million. This was more than the $2.1 million that the 25-year-old Austrian player Nguyen won for finishing sixth in the $25,000 super main event at the 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise. With this most recent victory in Monaco, his total recorded tournament earnings are now close to $4.7 million. Personally, I simply find it entertaining. "Playing against strong players is truly the most enjoyable experience," Nguyen told PokerStars reporters after his victory. Final Table Action At the start of the third and last day of this high-stakes tournament, only six players remained, with Nguyen positioned in the middle of the pack. On the last day, the tournament's prodigy, Mikita Badziakouski of Belarus, was the first to be eliminated, taking home $495,279 for his efforts. His current career earnings of approximately $62 million put him in fourth place all-time on the poker money list. Leon Sturm, the champion of the 2023 WSOP $50,000 high roller, was the next to exit the tournament, taking home $623,059. He was soon joined by Orpen Kisacikoglu, who won the €50,000 event at the 2022 WSOP Europe. The Turkish player earned $810,097 for finishing in fourth place, bringing his total lifetime earnings to over $20 million. After the last three players negotiated a possible deal, Nguyen turned it down; therefore, the tournament continued as before with the same payment structure. Seth Davies' trips clashed with Enrico Camosci's full house, ultimately eliminating the two-time Super High Roller Bowl champion in third place. As the third-place finisher, Davies received $1,053,047. He has scored in the seven figures five times in his career. When heads-up play started, Camosci was ahead. However, Nguyen eventually caught up and won the tournament. Coming in second place, Camosci received $1,474,085 in cash. The Italian is allegedly engaged in a tax dispute with the Italian government over his poker winnings.
