17 Aug 2025 ClubWPT Gold has released a new feature that has everyone in the poker world talking. Once a hand is complete, players can pay a small fee to see all the folded hole cards on the table. For $1.50, or about three big blinds depending on the stakes, users can see what their opponents mucked. While some say it's fun and an "information bonus," many others think it's dangerous and unfair because it affects the game's integrity. Almost always, folded cards stay hidden, but an all-in call could reveal a bad hand. Things will not be like this anymore for ClubWPT Gold players. Players can now see a button in the upper right corner of their screen after each hand is complete. This button lets them pay the site directly to see what everyone folded. For instance, if the blinds are SC 5/10, the player must pay SC 30 to see all of their opponent's hole cards. The site receives the cash directly, not the players whose hands are revealed. Most people think that making money off of secret information is a bad idea because it has never been done before in poker and will destroy the poker ecosystem. Poker Pros React Poker pros have quickly pushed back against it. Matt Berkey, a high-stakes pro, called the feature an "idiot tax." It was also mentioned that the real problem is that the site is profiting from player data. “This is actually sick. A stupid tax is fine if it gives to the player. But the site whoring out players’ data, in-game, for an additional idiot tax beyond the already questionably high rake… please do better.” Others had the same worries, saying that the feature makes distinguishing between fair play and taking advantage of players difficult. Professional poker player Rob Kuhn shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) that showed how the feature worked, which made the situation even worse. HOLY SHIT You can now pay 3 big blinds to see peoples card on CLUBWPT pic.twitter.com/mdA750YlH0 — Rob Kuhn (@RobKuhn_) August 14, 2025 But not everyone is against it. Seeing all hands after a pot could help find players who are colluding or who are playing in a way that doesn't seem normal. Hayley Hanna, a player and commentator, stated the need to protect the feature: “If you can see what everyone had after the hand, you could determine if someone was playing a hand weird/possibly colluding. I think it’s actually a nice safety feature.” Even those who are unsure agree that the way it's being done, with all the fees going to the site, seems more like a way to make money than a real effort to keep people safe. Poker Community Reaction Many players have been upfront on social media and believe this new feature breaks the game. eye4law: Comment byu/m3dusa666 from discussion inpoker Others mentioned additional issues, such as software bugs. When pots are folded before the flop, one user shared a screenshot showing that ClubWPT Gold allegedly takes the whole pot. randomperson837395: Comment byu/m3dusa666 from discussion inpoker Some people raised concerns about fairness: Mad_Z: Comment byu/m3dusa666 from discussion inpoker Another summed it up bluntly, BunglefromRainbow: Comment byu/m3dusa666 from discussion inpoker However, a few individuals have different opinions. Some users thought the feature could add an intriguing meta-game element by making players think twice about folding if their opponents could pay to show them.
