GGPoker ambassador Fedor Holz has stepped down from his role after partnering with the online poker giant for six years.

The German poker pro posted on X that he intends to take a break from the game and concentrate on starting a family and setting up an investment fund.

This news went viral quickly, and as always, the poker community had a quick response.

Fedor Holz Announces His Departure from GGPoker

According to Holz, he will not renew his ambassador contract and stepped down from his role after partnering with GGPoker for six years.

In his X post, the poker pro indicated that the game changed his life and reflected on his journey as a professional poker player.

At the moment Holz is keen on starting a new journey and will take a break from the high-stakes poker scene.

Holz indicated he and his partner are planning on starting a family this year and also setting up an investment fund.

This will take so much of his time, and he will not be able to properly fulfil his role as an ambassador since he has so many responsibilities.

Holz stressed that he still loves poker, but he will not be as active as he used to be in the poker scene.

However, he stated that he might play occasionally in some high-stakes events in the future.

A Poker Career Packed With Achievements

Holz has had a successful career despite being in his early 30s.

He is one of the best modern poker tournament players and has had some impressive results in his career.

Holz, who comes from Germany, became popular in the middle of the 2010s high-roller boom.

He went by the moniker "CrownUpGuy" online, and he became one of the very few players to be successful in both live and online tournaments.

He has won two World Series of Poker bracelets, including the famous $111,111 High Roller for One Drop in 2016, which made him almost $5 million.

His biggest career payday was when he came in second place in the $1 million Big One for One Drop with a payout of about $6 million.

His four Triton titles are among the many wins he has had in the Triton Super High Roller Series.

He is one of the best poker players of all time; he is one of the top earners in live events, having made more than $50 million.

Holz also created Grindhouse, a place for top poker players to learn the game, improve their skills, and access other poker training and mindset programmes.

After saying he was "retiring" for the first time in 2016, he continued to play occasionally and won millions more over the years.

More Than a Poker Pro

Holz's impact in the game goes beyond the tables.

Over the past ten years, he has turned into a poker entrepreneur and mentor.

He trained and coached a new generation of high-stakes players through business partnerships, training camps, and one-on-one coaching.

His role as a GGPoker ambassador was also crucial in  popularizing the game all over the world.

As a well-known and recognised high-roller player, Holz helped bring together the top event poker scene with the rest of the poker community.

The End of an Era

With Holz's decision to step down from his role at GGPoker, Holz closes a major chapter in his poker career.

The German poker pro has gone from being a young online grinder to one of the best high-roller players in the world in the last ten years.

He changed the game of poker for good with his tournament wins, strategy advice, and leadership in poker training.

Some in the poker world believe Holz will return, despite his current focus on family and business.

Poker Community Reaction

The poker community immediately started responding as soon as Holz made his announcement.

He had a big effect on poker, and many players and fans thanked him and wished him luck in his next venture.
