Martin Kabrhel, a professional poker player from the Czech Republic, won his fifth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet on Tuesday at the WSOP Europe (WSOPE) in the €10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Mystery Bounty event.

The win at King's Resort in Rozvadov earned him more than €250,000 and added another vital title to his already long list of accomplishments.

This is Kabrhel's second bracelet of 2025. His first was in the summer, when he won the Mini Main Event in Las Vegas.

In live tournaments, Kabrhel has been a steady force. He has made it to multiple final tables and cashed eight times for six figures this year alone.

Kabrhel had an amazing year, but he just missed out on being named WSOP Player of the Year. That award went to Shaun Deeb.

He now has over $16 million in total live earnings, making him one of the best poker players in the game.

But, as always with Kabrhel, it's not just the numbers that matter; it's also the show he puts on on the felt.

Final Table Fireworks: Kabrhel vs. Cowen

There were 88 entries in the €10K PLO tournament, and the prize pool was just shy of €1 million.

At the final table, Robert Cowen (UK), Dario Alioto (Italy), Tomasz Kozub (Poland), Ioannis Konstas (Greece), Krasimir Yankov (Bulgaria), Filip Lovric (Sweden), and Bouwe Claushuis (Netherlands) were all from Europe.

Kabrhel and Cowen were the dominant players from the very beginning. At the final table, they were the ones who eliminated every single player.

When it got down to three players, Kabrhel beat Kozub (4th) and Alioto (3rd) to take a huge chip lead into heads-up play.

He was up against Cowen, but the Welshman came in with a huge disadvantage, was down almost 10 times as many chips as Kabrhel, and had to deal with Kabrhel's trademark mix of small talk, drama, and mind games.

The Final Hand Drama

The final hand really summed up what makes Kabrhel such a divisive character. Kabrhel made a raise from the button with , and the blinds were at 30K/60K/60K. Cowen decided to defend his big blind holding .

The flop showed , which gave Kabrhel the nut straight, while Cowen ended up with two pair.

Cowen took a look, Kabrhel made a small bet, and then Cowen went all in with almost his whole stack. Kabrhel made a call and then slowly revealed his hand, showing one card at a time in a dramatic fashion.

Cowen said in a low voice, "Nice hand." Kabrhel replied, "Thank you," and then he asked, "Can we both go play the €25K now?"

The  came up on the turn, and Kabrhel called win before the river even touched down. When the  finished the board, the Czech player celebrated his bracelet in a very emotional way.

He hugged Cowen and then ran for the exit.

The Polarizing Presence of Martin Kabrhel

Few players make people differ as much as Martin Kabrhel.

He is the kind of guy that people either love or hate because he always talks at the table, stalls, and does silly (and sometimes annoying) stuff.

His fans say that his outgoing personality adds much-needed fun to poker, and it even inspired him to start his own line of products based on his catchphrases.

But some people say that his behavior can be annoying and hostile and turn off newbies to the game.

Does the way he plays hurt the game's image, or does the attention he receives help in the long run? That's up for debate.

There is no question about his ability to back up what he says with action. Five WSOP bracelets are not a fluke.

Poker Community Reacts

Kabrhel has had a lot of these mixed responses over the course of his career. Sometimes it is okay to add some humor to a game that could otherwise look too boring.

However, some people find him annoying and think he goes too far with his antics.
