There have been numerous allegations made against GGPoker in recent months. Players claim that bot accounts are highly prevalent.

These accounts play many games, taking advantage of how players act, and most of the time, no one notices.

Players are concerned about these claims, and many want GGPoker to take further steps to protect the integrity of the game.

How the Bots Are Allegedly Operating

A player on Reddit, identified as FernandoCosta, wrote a lengthy post alleging that various types of bot profiles are active in the 50-200 NL cash games on GGPoker.

He had several accusations:

  • Type 1 bots (like 13Stramina13, 996Gambler, frukywka, LetMeLoveYou, Kharaa7, and KevalNA) play very balanced, put in a lot of volume, and even compete on leaderboards.
  • Type 2 bots (such as Serpanika) limp a lot preflop and use opponents' data to adjust and take advantage of specific pool patterns.
  • Type 3 accounts (like Oltarian) with similar patterns that were not banned in earlier bot phase-out campaigns.

There are other "indefinite" styles with unique features (names like begMekot, TaraRaiser, Jeniamo, GalizianStyle, BaniiLaBaiatu, and leatherbutt) that are said to share statistical characteristics that are common to bots.

The user claims that these mix GTO-style balanced tactics with pool exploits, such as changing bet sizes, limping preflop, and dynamic aggression, among others.

It is alleged that their play is now so polished that time, click patterns, or other older signs may no longer be effective to detect them.

Evidence, Reporting, and GGPoker’s Measures

Some players allege they've been looking into these possible bot accounts for years, comparing stats and hand histories and noticing that many of the bots:

The bots are registering on multiple sites, including GG, ACR, iPoker, and Ignition.

Display near-identical HUD and statistical profiles across different accounts. Hit the leaderboards and rake races while getting high win rates (some reports indicate +7bb/100 or more).

In the past, GGPoker has taken certain actions to stop cheating.

They have banned accounts, strengthened their anti-cheating tools, and established the Poker Integrity Council to investigate all forms of cheating, including the use of bots.

Still, many players argue that the response is too slow and only partly helpful.

Reports of dozens of bot accounts continue to come in.

Players say there isn't enough information available, and those affected aren't receiving sufficient compensation.

Why Regular Players Are Worried

For people who play cash games often, there's more at stake than just short-term profits.

The presence of undetected bots alters the dynamics of rake races and leaderboard events.

Increases variance and lowers the expected value for human players who adhere to the regulations.

Players may feel like they are being "soft-banked" by robotic opponents, which hurts trust in the platform.

This situation could lead serious players to leave, which would negatively affect the game dynamics and ultimately harm both the players and the operator in the long run.

Given that the rake is still high (especially at upper mid-stakes), GGpoker should put more effort into checking players' ethics.

Some people say that if bots are allowed to grind and put in high volume without being stopped, normal human players won't stay on the platform.

What Next? What Should Be Done

GGPoker has recently taken steps to ban RTA users and make the site more honest, but players still think there are gaps, especially for advanced bots.

GGPoker will need to demonstrate that it is actively enforcing the rules in a transparent, honest, and advanced manner to rebuild trust and protect the integrity of online cash games.
